Choreographed in 2015 by: Judith FLEX Helle
Music: Floating Points
This lovely contemporary ballet and aerial dance is all about love, community, and the breathlessness of being truly together. Incredibly, this particluar performance, in Palm Springs on March 7th 2020, was Luminario Ballet's last performance before covid lockdown shut us down for 2+ years.
We're so grateful to have returned to the stage.
"Zarathustra!"
2012-2023
Choreography by Judith FLEX Helle, with aerial choreography by Brett Womack and Vanessa Nichole, with whip and rhythmic choreography by Bianca Sapetto
Costumes: Joanna Hadfield Atelier
This contemplative 5 section work, including
Sun, Fire, Water, Moon, and Darkness, allows us a moment to contemplate inward and wonder during this new era of A.I. and emotional distance- what Nietsche pondered: "...are the soul and the body separate, or, one whole thing?..."
Choreographed by Judith FLEX Helle 2021
This ballet and aerial dance is in response to the 2020/2021 lock down- how it's up to ballet dancers to be, as Barack Obama said: "... we are the ones we've been waiting for..." a hard, fast Vivaldi romp à la Marvel or DC superheroes; in other words, how ballet dancers and aerialists save the world!
"Hexen" ("Witches")
Choreographed and written by Dreya Weber 2023
Women throughout the ages have been the nurturers and healers of the world, and for that women are enslaved, persecuted, tortured, then executed in horrible ways. With this autobiographical story, Dreya Weber weaves a tale of fantasy which is stranger than truth- although it is true, which starts with the discovery of Dreya's mother's roots, in Trier Germany; revolves around whyat happened to these women during the Plague in the MIddle Ages; and then goes back to how brilliant women were dealt with in ancient Greek times. Bone chilling, thought provoking, and Luminario Ballet is very proud to present this ground-breaking aerial dance story teller.

("The Invalid")
A dance film in three parts:
Director, Choreographer, Concept and Artistic Direction:
Judith FLEX Helle 2021
This 12 minute, three song/three part dance film follows the young woman, Juliet, as she struggles with terrible illness; over-medicated by her parents and doctors, she falls into a dream, where she is menaced by hungry, sensual vampires who devour her. She dies, and we see her as a ghost, trapped in an endless loop with other ghosts, who eventually free her soul to the heavens.
"L'Invalide" is also available as a live performance.
This film is based on the sickly teenaged years of Judith FLEX Helle. Read more about Judith at judithflexhelle.com
